Our Journey
Our journey began in the diverse landscape of Canada, a rich, sometimes very cold backdrop that served as our foundation and jumping-off point for seeking out new adventures. Since the early 2000’s, we travelled extensively, and along the way, we became residents in the USA, Panama, and now Portugal.
Each new experience added to our happiness and helped us grow as individuals. We embraced the thrill of new cultures, savoured local cuisines, and cherished the joy of meeting fascinating people. Our adventures proved that it’s truly always 5 o’clock somewhere. They also proved that experiences, like this new Portugal chapter of our journey, are the best ways to satisfy our zest for life.

The Birth of Sol & Sumo
Throughout the past 25 years of exploring this earth, we often discussed whether our unique experiences and perspectives could be expressed through fashion. We dreamt of creating casual and athleisure wear (before it was even a trend) that would enhance life’s adventures and designs that would spark joyful memories and immortalise treasured experiences. 
After moving to Portugal and immersing ourselves in the local culture, we discovered that the country’s fashion manufacturers supply some of the best casual, athleisure, and streetwear brands in the world. This realisation gave us the inspiration and confidence to turn our past discussions and vision into reality.
With this inspiration and confidence, Sol & Sumo was born.

Our first step is to bring our designs to life using quality, made-to-order suppliers. By the end of the year we will launch our exclusive collections of Portuguese manufactured fashion that will feature innovative, award-winning fabrics coupled with Sol & Sumo's zesty designs.
